!Officially a SPOTIFY ARTIST!

7.9.2024

Again, it has been ages since an update has hit this website.

Apologies but ya girl is one busy bee. Ya girl is also someone who accomplishes huge important things and then tells herself it's not as big or important as things her peers have accomplished. NO MORE.

This thing we've accomplished is a HUGE deal. I am a freaking SPOTIFY ARTIST, verified and everything.

Honestly, I still get chills every time I hear my song pop up when my music is on shuffle. It's a big deal and I'm done treating it like it isn't.

It feels insanely validating to know people are streaming my song all over the globe through Spotify, Apple, YouTube, and/or Amazon. Yup, you read right! It is everywhere!! Give her a listen!

The Early Stages of BARBA!

5.30.24

It has been an extremely long while since my NEWS section was updated, more than two years to be precise.

Life has been particularly ALL OVER THE PLACE... but I can go more into those details in a blog post later on. What I can share is how I've had the privilege of being part of the very early stages of BARBA! A Brazilian Body Percussion Musical.  These past two weeks, I've been part of an intensive art program where this new exciting material was worked on and played with in several ways. This was a way for the group of 59 artists and me to continue growing our form of artistic expression, as well as provide Director Luis Salgado with unique Artistic Concepts as he gets ready to put the full show on his feet.

Now, although I did not make the final cast for BARBA, I can say I was part of some of the most important developmental moments of the show. I, with full confidence, can say that I contributed to the success I am confident this show will experience in the future. For that, I couldn't be more grateful.

Give the video above a watch & see if you can spot me dancing (I'm wearing a black dress) !

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!! WE WON A THING Y'ALL!!!! THE PILOT IS OUT AND IT IS A SUCCESS!!!!!!

Okay my darlings, this is BIG. Now, again, if  you follow me on social media, you should already know about this fan-freaking-tastic news. I just posted it everywhere so the world can know of the success "Practically Ordinary" holds and so that they can board the fandom train that is awaiting the release of the first season. The main question all of you have is why we released the pilot a year early.... WELL, this is what I like to call a true testing pilot. We filmed it and threw it into the film festival circuit and were hoping for good feedback which we obviously received.  We can now continue with our first season as planned and make any changes or updates to the pilot we feel is necessary before we begin releasing that first season. Now, if you haven't seen the pilot yet... WHAT ARE YOU DOING???? Watch it here: Practically Ordinary - IndieBoom Film + Music Festival NYC | IndieBoom (indieboomff.com).

Lastly, if you want to really come with the "Practically Ordinary" Crew whilst we go on the journey of completing season one, follow us here: Practically Ordinary (@practically.ordinary).

My Good Ma'ams, Sirs, and NB Beauties!

How are you all doing? It has been a HOT minute. Now, that doesn't mean that I've just been sitting around twiddling my thumbs. No, I've been working in silence, marinating my life with the right spices.... If you follow ne on IG, you already know that I STARTED MY OWN PRODUCTION COMPANY.

After going into production on the pilot of "Practically Ordinary', I realized just how much I love seeing things come together and being the one putting all of it together. So, I took a breath and decided I wanted to continue doing this for the rest of my life. So, I started my own production company. It's really the best of ALL the worlds. I get to see my writing come to life. I get to be the puzzle-solver who puts everything together. And, I get to add beautiful work that I resonate with on my resume.

And, speaking of beautiful work, we've already released the first episode of a sketch series entitled, "Popcorn SkitZ". The whole series is basically like SNL but shorter. You can chill and have some popcorn in between your 9 to 5s while you watch our episodes. The show is available on Instagram and on the RoseJoy Youtube for streaming. You can also head to the "Pictures & Reels" section on the site (episode 1 will be on the bottom) or you can just click here: PopCorn SkitZ #1 (RoseJoy Productions).

The great thing about the show is that it has no set release schedule. New sketches come out when they come out. Currently, we are in pre-production for our second sketch and you can check out all the info we have so far on it by heading here: PopCorn SkitZ on IMDB.

Now, that doesn't mean the RoseJoy IG is completely desolate when these sketches are being written, developed, produced, or filmed. It just means you'll be getting different kinds of content. Obviously, on the IG is promotional stories and content for other RoseJoy Works (Practically Ordinary + more to come), as well as fun reels to hold you over whilst you wait for the release of the new sketch.

Now, past my website (which if I'm being brutally honest is hard to upkeep), you can stay up to date on all things RoseJoy by following us on Instagram here: RoseJoy Productions (@rosejoy.productions) .

I have such wonderful news to share with you all!

A wonderful sitcom-y web-series that I created and co-wrote with talents Robert Fabricio Armstrong and Anthony Ferrara will officially be in production starting this Friday. The show follows three twenty-somethings navigating adulthood in New York City and all it's "normalcy". It's a show with 5-10 minute episodes that depict three completely ordinary New Yorkers. Well.... PRACTICALLY ORDINARY.

Release date is currently set for June 16th, 2023.

"Returning Home" Film Premiere

5.29.21

Hey Guys! I've got some amazing news to share with you!

First off, Let me tell you a bit about The Human Arts Collective (THAC).

THAC , as stated on their website (thehumanartscollective.com), is a company that was founded in March 2020. THAC is an inclusive, multidisciplinary arts company that embraces the power of artistic expression to foster a more connected, imaginative, and empowered world.

In Collaborating with THAC, I have come to learn a myriad of things about who I am and why I am the way that I am. The creative arts company made the journey of self-discovery run so smoothly because of how much artistic freedom they gave to me and my co-stars. I mean, "Returning Home" is a culmination and abstraction of mine and my co-stars most vulnerable stories.

You can check out my Original Story, "Be You, Unapologetically" by heading to my Pictures & Reels page and scrolling down to the bottom.

Now... Let's get into the fun stuff. Below is my teaser for the short film "Returning Home".

As stated on THAC's Website, Lucinda Black is a teen fighting for her chance to survive against the battle between what brings her joy and fear. In a world of comedy and terror, Lucinda helps us laugh in the face of our challenges, and own up to our own faults in order to be the best we possibly could be.

Lucinda’s world plays into the symbolic elements of zombies, shadows, video games and comic books!

You're definately not going to want to miss the film premiere on June 12th!! Tickets are only $7 and they're 100% worth it! You can purchase them HERE!
